Wow 5 months and I am back, well i thought i would post the following called "standing and falling" just in case someone needs to see it........feel free to leave comments cuz i still check my xanga every once in awhile.

Standing vs Falling

Something to think about.  If heard these two quotes in class and read these two verses tonight so I thought I'd share. "If you STAND for NOTHING, you will FALL for ANYTHING" -don't know- "When you STAND there is only ONE direction to go, but when you FALL you can go in ANY direction (ONE way to STAND; MANY ways to FALL)" -Frank Perretti- James 1:11 "...In the same way, the rich (UNSAVED-those who choose to not live for God) man will FADE (FALL) away even while he goes about his business (Sin-what he knows is wrong, yet doesn't care)." James 1:12 "BLESSED is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has STOOD the test, he will RECEIVE the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him." ~Will you choose to STAND for God, or choose to live and FALL for the "business" of this world. It is up to you, but in the end those that STAND will RECIEVE LIFE, and those that FALL will FADE AWAY.~ -Jordan-

Ok so i was reading my Bible yesterday and in the commentary or whatever at the bottom it had a list of 3 stages of sin that was evident in King Solomons life. 1) Resisting sin 2) tolerating sin and 3)Rationalizing sin.  After seeing that I was just blown away at how real that is in our lives.  We know what is wrong and what is right, so of course it is right to RESIST sin.  That is easy for awhile, but it becomes harder and harder to do that even though we know we should.  We should try to resist as long as possible, but being human we know that we will slip sometimes.  Therefore we start to become immune to sin, and TOLERATE it.  Once we get there it we quickly start RATIONALIZING our sin, by saying things like "its not THAT bad." Well then whats good about it.  This cycle is so true in life.  But we have to come to a point in our life where we are so close to God, that we catch the cycle early.  If we can do that we wont fall so far each time.  Weed out the sin early!

Sorry, i kinda got off of the spiritual entrys.  So here is one:

In I Kings 8:56-60, Solomon is dedicating the temple of God.  He prays a prayer, and in this prayer he had 5 main requests.  This is like the IDEAL prayer.  Like seriously if we prayed this we would be way closer to God.  Anyways here are the five parts, if you want it in sentence form READ the Bible. mmm k pumpkin ok thats from HITCH.  Ok but here it is. 1)God's presence 2)the desire to do Gods will in everything 3)for the desire and ability to obey God's commands 4)for help with each days needs and 5)for the spread of God's kingdom to the entire world.

Wow what an amazing prayer, after all he was the wisest man who ever lived.
